State Park Fees Waived Temporarily

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced on July 1, 2009, it will waive all day use fees from August 1-9, 2009, at its more than 2,400 Corps-operated recreation sites nationwide. State and local agencies and private partners who manage recreation facilities on Corps lands are encouraged but not required to comply with the fee waiver.

Courtesy Boat Check

The SCDNR Law Enforcement Division will conduct courtesy safety inspections at Jim Rampey Recreation Area from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., July 3-4, and 1-3 p.m., July 5. All locations

Budget Public Hearing

The Town of Calhoun Falls' 2009-2010 buget passed final reading and was approved on June 25, 2009. The budget is balanced, according to Sam Leaman of the Upper Savannah Council of Governments and will include a 20 cent per thousand increase on water usage, effective July 1, 2009. The vote passed 3-to-1 with Mayor Pro Tem Michael F. Johnson being absent at the time of voting.
